Practical Use of the FIDIC Contracts

FIDIC has long been renowned for its standard forms of contract for use between employers and contractors on international construction projects.

The 1999 FIDIC Conditions of Contract are being increasingly used by the international construction industry. Multi-lateral development banks, including the World Bank, the Islamic Bank for Development and the Asian Development Bank have adopted the 1999 FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Construction, with modifications.

This practical 3-day Intensive Training Course illustrates the use of the FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Construction (the ‘Construction Contract’) and the FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Plant and Design-Build (the ‘Design-Build Contract’). The course is designed to give you confidence in working with these contracts whether representing employers, consultants or contractors. To ensure that you get the most out of the course, you will also have the opportunity to complete short assignments and review case studies to help you understand the application of the FIDIC clauses.

Those with existing knowledge of the FIDIC forms of contract will be able to enhance their skills and understanding. Those new to the contracts will gain in-depth knowledge including, but not limited to, how the contracts are administered, the differences between the contracts, which contract to use and the responsibilities of the parties.
